On December 7th we had our final Interest Social at Legacy Hall. For many of our Launch Team members, this was their first time being in Legacy Hall, the venue where we will hold our Sunday services. Before the event started, we took some time to walk through the building and cast the vision of what a Sunday morning will look like. It was a great moment with the team.

The Interest Social went extremely well. We had some great conversations with the people we met that night who are now ready to jump in and be a part of the team. These Interest Socials have consistently been a great opportunity to cast the vision, build relationships and generate buy-in!

Over this past month we have made some great in-roads with different organizations within our community. For our Interest Social, we asked the local Career and Technology Center (CTC) culinary class to provide the desserts. They did an amazing job! They went above and beyond which provided plenty of extra desserts. We used the surplus and created trays of delicious treats for local fire departments. We delivered them to the stations with lots of Clear Point invite cards. It was a great win for us because we were able to bless our firefighters. I was also able to report back to the CTC teacher whose class provided all the desserts and let them know about how their diligence and excellence not only helped our event be a success but also blessed local first responders. They were so excited to hear about all the people who were able to enjoy their hard work.

Another great win for our team happened on December 7th in the morning before our Interest Social. The fire department was hosting a Breakfast with Santa and invited us to have a table at the event.

When I arrived with a few of our team members, we noticed that they were struggling with their audio and video systems. Since we were having an event later that evening, I had already packed everything in our vehicle, so we were able to set up a sound system and a television for them to be able to play Christmas music and a Christmas movie for everyone who came out. My goal from the beginning was not just to use the fire department’s facility, but to be a blessing to them as well. This was a great opportunity for us to do just that.

It turned out to be a mutually beneficial day because after we helped them out, every time they made announcements about the morning’s activities they also made mention of our church and invited everyone to come out to launch Sunday!
